Sharm el Sheikh

This past week we had a group of divers with us from Klagenfurt in Austria.
They are all professional firefighters. They were diving together with Andrea and Isabelle.
Now from previous blog entries you might remember that Andrea had an unlucky streak for a while. But I believe that the guys from Feuerwehr Klagenfurt came and changed it all.
I can happily tell you that she has seen a Whitetip Reefshark AND a Manta in this week. There is even proof of this.
Thursday on dive 1 the group together with Isabelle had the Whitetip and on dive 2 the group with Andrea had the Manta.
Then Friday for no reason in particular Andrea's group jumped 1st and saw a Whitetip.
I would just like to thank the guys again for sharing some photos with us and making diving a happy experience for Andrea once more.

Letzte Woche hat uns eine Gruppe von Feuerwehrmänner aus Klagenfurt - Österreich besucht. Sie waren mit Andrea und Isabelle tauchen. Ihr erinnert euch sicher noch an den letzten Blog Eintragungen,
das Andrea von einer Pechsträhne verfolgt wurde
Ich glaube die Jungs von der Feuerwehr Klagenfurt kamen und haben es geändert.
Ich kann euch glücklicherweise sagen, das sie in der letzen Woche einen Weißspitzen Riffhai UND einen Mantarochen gesehen hat.
Es gibt sogar Beweise.
Donnerstag gleich beim ersten Tauchgang hatte die Gruppe mit Isabelle einen Weißspitzen Riffhai und beim zweiten Tauchgang hatte die Gruppe mit Andrea einen Mantarochen gesehen.
Freitag dann ohne Grund ist Andrea's Gruppe als erstes ins Wasser gesprungen und haben gleich mal einen Weißspitzen Riffhai gesehen.
Wir möchten uns bei der tollen Truppe bedanken, das sie die schönen Fotos mit uns geteilt haben und natürlich auch,
das Andrea wieder mal eine schöne unvergessliche Zeit, sprich auch schöne Tauchgänge mit euch hatte.

In the previous blog entry I made a wish for seeing a Whaleshark.
Now I am not in the water at the moment, but luckily Susi and Hany and the group of divers with them happened to see a beautifully big guy in Ras Umm Sid on our local divesites on Thursday.

We also had a Night dive from the boat on Thursday evening. They went to Fiddle Garden and had such a big variety of sea life.
There was a swimming Moray Eel, Squid, Clam Digger and Octopus (these I have no photos of)

We had four of our loooooongstanding repeater guest, Harro and Dörte Hühn and Peter and Angela Lachmann (also parents of Nancy who works in the office) diving with us the last 2 weeks.

They shared a couple of their photos with us that they took during their holiday. Most of which was in Naama Bay from our House Reef.

On a recent night dive in Naama Bay, Isabelle and her divers saw a Clam Digger or Slipper Lobster (2nd last photo) and yesterday Jannik and his Open Water Students had a Feather Tail Stingray (last photo) in Ras Umm Sid.

It has been a great week, now I am waiting for the Whalesharks!!

The summer is starting in full swing with some amazing underwater sightings but also above the water.
On the way to the Strait of Tiran there was Dolphins on the surface. They must have been in a specially good mood. Making a number of jumps and flips. Dörte Hühn was fast enough with the camera and caught one when it was full out of the water. Great stuff!!!

Then there was also some Manta action on Fiddle Garden. With Henrik and Emma. Unfortunately no one else on the boat saw it. But it still made a very nice show for them also looping and turning a few times before going of into the blue.

Gestern hat Eagleray wieder angefangen zu arbeiten. Nach etwas länger als 1Monat Trocken Dock sieht das Boot tip-top aus. Wurde neu gestrichen und paar Kleinigkeiten wurden geändert.

Eagleray is back again and ready for work. After a month dry dock the boat started to work yesterday. It got new painted and some small things has been changed.

Die letzte Tage haben mehrere Schnorchler und Taucher einen Weisspitzen Hochseehai in Middle Garden gesehen. Manche haben Angst, aber ich freue mich, weil es ein Zeichen von klares Wasser und viele Fische ist.

The last days a couple of snorklers and divers saw an oceanic white tip shark in Middle Garden. I like it, it means for me, that the sea is clean and there are a lot of fish around.

Ich muss mein letzten Blogeintrag richtigstellen: Andrea hat ihre schlechte periode NICHT beendet. Sie war gestern mit 14 Gäste und 2 Tauchlehrern auf dem DreamIII. 12Gäste(die nicht mit Andrea tauchten) und die 2 Guides haben Manta gesehen, Andrea hat ihn wieder verpasst.... No comment.

I have to correct my last blog entry: Andrea has not closed up her unlucky period. Yesterday she was on DreamIII with 14 guests and other two guides. 12 of the guests(they were with the other guides) have seen a manta. Andrea missed it as usuall..... No comment.

Andrea hat ihre schlechte Serie abgebrochen und hat ein Adlerrochen gesehen. Wir hoffen, dass sie in der Zukunft mehr Glück hat.

Andrea broke up her unlucky period. She has seen an Eagleray. We hope that in the future she will be lucky again.
