Some divers and sometimes student divers have all the luck !!
Pictures this....you are taking part in your Open Water Course. It is only your third day that you are going underwater, you do not even have a certification yet. Then during Open Water dive 2 you see one of THE most beautiful creatures The Red Sea has .... MANTA !!!!
This was the case for Kasper and his group of six Danish students the previous week. All this action offcourse took place here on our Housereef Naama Bay.
Our resident Ghostpipefish (see photo previous blog) has now also found a friend. They make a strange couple as the friend is a Seagrass Ghostpipefish (dark brown). Usually you do not see different species 'hanging' together. Could be because the other two Seagrass Ghostpipefish that you can find under the LIDO HOTEL Deck is already a pare and therefore he/she had to find someone else.
Pictures to follow...
Richard has also found the White Tip Reef Sharks between Ras Katy and Temple almost everyday that he has been at this divesites. They sleep in some of the little caves under the coral blocks.
Thats it for now...
Exhale.....
Leopard Ray and Ghostpipefish

It is amazing all the different creatures that we can find here in the Red Sea. Yesterday while hanging on their Safety Stop after a dive in Ras Ghamila (one of our local dive sites), Thomas and Gerd spotted a Leopard Ray swimming a few meters down. The name comes from the pattern on the back that is similar to that of a Leopard. Unfortunately we could not get a close-up of the pattern, but it does show the beautiful long tail.

Our house reef is Naama Bay and it is popular for the smaller creatures of the Red Sea. We have recently discovered an interesting new resident. A Ghostpipefish. It is about 6 centimeters long and really unique in appearance. This photo was taken by Andrea who works in our counter.

Hope you enjoy this little slice of Sharm !

Yesterday saw the start of our CMAS-BARAKUDA Instructor Training Course conducted by Angyal(Angel) here in our center in Naama Bay. We have two candidates, Michael Baier who also did his Dive Con with us in the previous year and Attila Borocz one of our Freelance Divemasters. Both Michael and Attila decided it is time to take the next step and are realy excited and motivated. We will keep you updated with their progress during the next week. Thomas Becker one of our SSI Instructors is also doing his Dive Con Instructor Course. Good Luck to all the guys !!
We also had some luck on the boat Eagleray Sharm today on the local divesites, in Ras Umm Sid Susanne and Richard had a Hammerhead Shark pass them during the dive. Really strange to see these Sharks somewhere else than Jackson Reef.

Dream 1 was in the Strait of Tiran today with Julie, Charl and Kasper. They had Turtles on Jackson and Thomas Reef and also an Eagleray on Jackson's Coral Garden.
Wishing everyone happy days!!
Alita
