Sharm el Sheikh

Yesterday our boat Eagleray Sharm went to the Strait of Tiran with Charl, Marianne and a group of very enthusiastic divers. It was a beautiful sunny day (you did not realise that it is winter time)
They made their dives first at Thomas Reef and with the second dive they went to Jacskon Reef.
It was a nice dive with a free swimming Moray Eel and the regular cloud of Anthias over the coral garden AND THEN they got very lucky!!!
A Manta with a wingspan of about 4meters passed them on the inside of Jackson Reef.

Nach dem Regen haben wir die Tauchschule getrocknet und die Bauarbeiten sind auch bald fertig. Die Wände sind neu gestrichen, Flur gewechselt, Dach von die Klassenzimmer wurde erneuert.

After the rain we have dryed the Dive Center and the renovation is almost done. The walls are painted, the flooring is done, ceiling in the classroom is fixed.

Ready for the next season.

Ich bin schon seit fast 7Jahre in Sharm, aber sowas habe ich noch nie gesehen. Es hat so geregnet, dass gleich Strom und Telefonnetzwerk abgeschtürzt ist, wir konnten am Dienstag noch immer nicht telefonieren, kein Internet und kein Strom. Die Strassen, die Wohnungen, die Tauchschule wurde geflutet.

I´m here 7years ago in Sharm, but never have seen something like what happened on sunday. There was a storm with a lot of rain and wind. There was no electricity, telefone and internet. There was water everywhere, the streets, the flats and the dive center.

In Middle Garden ist der Geisterfetzenfisch wieder da. Das gleiche Korallenblock wie letztes Jahr. Jean-Louis Rose hat paar Fotos gemacht.

In Middle Garden the ghostpipefish is back. The same pinacle as last year. Jean-Loius Rose took some pictures.

Da es jetzt Nebensaison ist, haben wir Zeit für Renovierung. Die komplette Fussboden wird ausgetauscht.

It is low season, we have some time for renovation. The complete flooring will be changed.

Am 2.Tag dieses Jahres ist ein großer Kontainershiff aufs Riff gelaufen in Tiran. Das Boot liegt jetzt seit 2 Tage auf Woodhouse Riff Outside. Wir dürfen momentan dort nicht tauchen, keiner weiss es genau, wie lange noch und was eigentlich passiert ist. Steffen war am den Tag in Tiran und zum Glück hat seine Handy mitgehabt, damit wir euch ein Foto zeigen können.

On the second day of this year, a big container ship run up on one of the reefs in Tiran. The boat is 2 days ago on Woodhouse reef outside, nobody knows exactly what happened, and how long we can not dive there. Our instructor was there with his mobile phone, could make some pictures.

Der Weinachtsmann hat für die Taucher auf Eagleray heute ein sehr schönes Geschenk gebracht. Ein Weisspitzen Hochsehai hat sich in Middle Garden sehen lassen. Alita mit ihre 3 OWD Studenten, Steffen mit seine 5 OWD Studenten haben heute der letzten Tag des Kurses gemacht. Steffens Student Soren Stuhr und Liva haben zum Glück eine Kamera dabei gehabt.

Santa Claus brought a nice present for Xmas. 3 OWD Students from Alita and 5 OWD students with Steffen had an Oceanic whitetip shark in Middle Garden. Thanks to God the students of Steffen Soren Stuhr and Liva had a camera with them.

Gestern Abend haben wir unsere Staff, Reiseveranstälter und die Ägyptische Staff für ein Weinachtsabendessen eingeladen. Wir haben auf dem Strand von Don Fernando lecker gegessen.
