Now we have come back from Filitheyo I though I would just write to tell you how much we enjoyed our time on the island.
We were really impressed with your dive centre there. The facilities, equipment, organisation and staff were all excellent. The tank shuttle service around the island was great and the good explanation of the various dive sites that could be visited were very useful (in fact we'd printed these off from your web-site before going out there, so we could already decide which sites seemed interesting to us). The range of boat dives each day was also very good.
We tried the underwater scooters for the first time, which was very good fun - and they let us catch up and watch a big group (18-20) of eagle rays that we saw passing by - without the scooters we never would have been able to follow and catch them again!
The people were very good too ... the tank boys and the dive staff. We've lost their names, but the guy who had just arrived in Filitheyo from Thailand, the guy who was going off to be base-leader on Medhufushi, and the lady with long white/blonde hair all gave very good briefings and all the help we needed. (Stefan, though we didn't have very much contact with him, was maybe a little less positive. At the welcome briefing for new guests he emphasised all the negative aspects and dangers rather than the positives - luckily we didn't go to that briefing until the second night, by which time we'd worked out the island and the dive centre for ourselves. I think if we'd seen the briefing very soon after arriving we'd have been left wondering if we'd chosen the right island!)
Anyway, that apart, we had a great time with the Werner Lau Diving Centre. On the basis of Filitheyo we'd certainly be very happy to go to a destination with another Werner Lau centre and we've already been recommending you (at the airport on the way home we met up with some people who'd been on the same liveaboard as us the week before we were on Filitheyo, when they'd been on another island.)
