Equipment
This diving is equipped - as are all Werner Lau diving centres - to accommodate the special requirements and wishes of the divers. To ensure this, there is always enough equipment for hire available:
60 BCDs (Scubapro)
30 Regulators with octopus, depth gauge and inflator (Scubapro)
100 Sets of masks, fins and snorkels (Seemann)
50 long wetsuits (7 mm Scubapro)
30 dive computers (Aladin 2G)
10 underwater lights (Scubapro)
To ensure that everything runs smoothly, we have 100 steel tanks (5l, 8l, 10l, 12l and 15l DIN + INT) which are filled from 2 Coltri Compressors.
Nitrox is available free of charge for divers holding a Nitrox certification. Guests are welcome to use the excellently fitted out workshop at the centre if necessary. If you have any problems with your equipment, the staff will be happy to help you out.

Your own diving gear
Your personal diving gear can be stowed in boxes at the diving centre and will be transported to the dive boats by our staff.
Diving Trips
For our whole-day-trips we use spacious, modern Zodiacs equipped for diving. The boats leave from the beach directly in front of the diving centre.
We do offer bus transfers free of charge from the hotels in the neighbourhood and therefore a smooth daily routine is ensured.
Daytrips by boat include 2 dives per day. In addition, night dives and diving with Nitrox are offered.

Diving Area
Aldiana house reef: The two breakwaters in the West in front of the hotel form the reef for course dives. This is ideal and there is no easier and more comfortable way to learn how to dive. The barriers are 80 to 100 metres long and were built out of boulders in 1999. As part of the programme "Oxy goes Eco", a small artificial reef was laid out there in 2004. This reef can already be explored during course dives. An underwater nature trail was added in 2005.
In the meantime, a remarkable flora and fauna has developed there. Numerous blennies are living between the rocks. During the summer months, octopuses can be found in the crevices. Sand smelts and sardines can be seen in the open water. One of the Eastern breakwaters is home to a small school of barracuda. With a bit of luck seahorses can be seen as well.

The boat trips start - depending on the distance to the dive site - at 08:30 h or 09:00 h, respectively. All local dive sites are within 30 minutes with our boats departing direct from the beach at the Dive centre. Next to the highlight of the Zenobia, we have the Cap Greco National Park with a driving time by car of 1,5 hours and North Cyprus with 2 hours driving.
However, the absolute highlight for divers is the wreck of Zenobia, a Swedish cargo ship with an impressive length of 176 metres. In 1980, the fully laden ship sank on its maiden voyage to Syria 1400 metres in front of the harbour of Larnaca. Zenobia is the biggest shipwreck in the Mediterranean Sea and is one of the world`s top ten shipwrecks which can be dived.
Due to the calm location of the island and to the rocky sea bed, visibility is usually around 20 to 40 metres. From July onwards the water temperature is very comfortable at 28 to 29 °C.

Safety
Our dive boats are equipped with oxygen and first aid kit as well as radio. The nearest recompression chamber is located in Larnaca which is about 25 kilometres away.
Diving Courses
We offer free trial dives in the pool several times a week to give a first introduction to scuba diving.
Whoever is interested in learning to dive after this experience can join a diving course following SSI, Barakuda/CMAS or PADI standards. The course takes 4 days.
Theory lessons alternate with the diving sessions (6 dives) to ensure a diversified schedule.
After successful completion of the course, the students receive an internationally recognized certification (SSI or PADI Open Water Diver or CMAS*).
For those who only would like to have a look at the gorgeous underwater world of the Mediterranean Sea, we offer introductory dives of 15 to 20 minutes.
Already at a depth of 4 to 5 meters maximum one feels like swimming in an aquarium and can enjoy the marvellous underwater world.
This experience is offered on an individual one to one basis.
In addition, we offer continuing education courses up to CMAS*** and PADI Divemaster/SSI Divecon as well as different specialty courses and diving with Nitrox.
