Kerstin & Christian had spent a couple of days at Medhufushi. They just chilled out in the sun till Juergen & Sabine arrived later in the afternoon. A quick lunch and on the way to the north end of Meemu Atoll we did our very easy first dive at William’s Reef with loads of fusiliers & a turtle! Dinner and a few beers had concluded the hectic day with all the traveling especially for Juergen & Sabine.

The start was a channel cross with eagle ray, sting ray, schooling barracudas & baby grey reef sharks. Second channel cross gave us even more sharks with the same beautiful visibility and medium current. After a long time waiting, just as we gave up, the Manta showed up at the channel corner for a few loops before we made our ascent. A very impressive first day but unfortunately we don’t have a “Paparazzi diver” on this tour.

It was sunny and flat when we crossed the channel over to the Felidhe atoll.

30m plus visibility with white tips, greys, stingrays, napoleons & eagle rays made our first dive and this was hard to top.

Golden wall is a must, especially with incoming current. After spending some time at the channel corner, we drifted along the beautiful multicoloured soft coral wall into the atoll.

After a long drive back we had two different currents at Shark point – must have been a giant eddy.  Sabine & Juergen have been pulled away from the channel with no chance to join the others and had to cut the dive short to avoid drifting to Sri Lanka. :-)

It was a shark traffic jam this morning with huge grey reefs at the cleaning station with cleaner wrasses on their teeth. Over 30 sharks all in all along the channel edge with the strong ingoing current.
