01.10.2017

A beautiful sunny day, Sheena is clean and fresh to welcome new guests.
We had total 10 divers who arrived at different times of the day. As it was late when all the guest arrives Sheena, we did not do a check dive, but some relax time swimming near the boat in the lagoon

Filitheyo out side / Western highlights / Mantas and more

Small out going current at fili outside, sorted out equipment adjusted divers weight, we made an easy relaxed dive with loads of bat fishes, some sharks. Second dive at western highlight in meemu atoll, amazing coral life, clear visibility with a nice medium incoming current. For the last dive we drove to Mantas and more. And was perfect to dive with a huge whaleshark and few mantas. As well few grey reefsharks and white tips were seen.

Mantas and more / Lucky reef / Anbara thila

We did our first dive again at mantas and more. That was simply the best. There were at least 20 manta rays hanging around. We spend a nice 60 minutes with these gentle giants.

Drove to north of meemu for the second dive. Medium out going current with visibility like 15 meters. Few grey reef sharks, white tips and. Couple of eagle rays were seen. As well a large school of yellow fin barracudas and big eyed travellies were there.

For the last dive, we went to vaavu atoll. And made a dive at anbara thila.

Rakeedhoo kandu /  Golden wall / Fottheyo kandu

Nice and clear visibility at rakeedhoo kandu even with out going medium current. Amazing soft corals in the overhangs. Lots of macro stuff like ghost pipe fish, all sorts of shrimp a school of bump head parrot fish and some nice hard corals on the top reef.

We had a nice drift on goldenwall and the last dive at fottheyo was amazing as always.

Fottheyo kandu / Dhekunu kandu / Uthuru kandu / Alimatha house reef

Unfortunately we had no luck seeing hammer heads in the early morning this time. But was a nice dive to see all the soft corals, a baby white tip shark, couple of grey reef sharks and napoleons.

Drove near Alimatha for the second dive at alimatha dhekunu kandu, and third dive to alimatha uthuru kandu, all with out going current. Our fourth dive was at alimatha house reef at night. As always, this is spectacular with tones of big fat nurse sharks everywhere. Jackfishes hunting the little bait fishes and stingrays moving around divers all along the dive.

Devana kandu / Shark Point / White tip station

First dive of the day was at dhevana kandu with a small out going current with vsisbility 20 meters. Few white tip reef sharks, sting ray and a porcupine ray just resting on the channel bottom. Many Dracula gobies and lots of different shrimps. Was an easy relaxed dive. We drove back to meemu atoll for the second dive to shark point. Current is going out all along the trip. Visibility was about 20 meters. We saw couple of feather tail stingrays, many barracudas, full of fusiliers, and some white tip sharks. Soft corals inside the overhangs were a highlight too.

Last dive was at white tip station and we went to dhiggaru for a local island experience.

Lucky reef / Filitheyo thila

Last day of the trip, first dive at Lucky reef with medium out going current, we met the school of barracudas and bigeye travellies and few grey reef sharks swimming through the fishes was awesome.

Then we head back to Filitheyo thila for the last dive. Unfortunately only four divers could do this dive as the rest of the divers had early flight next day.

After the last dive we had happy time at happy hour in Filitheyo.
