MY Sheena Tour Filitheyo – Filitheyo 16. – 23.12.2018

16.12.2018

This time there was no dive on the arrival day. All guests moved into their cabins instead. We had dinner and a welcome briefing including the introduction of the crew.

17.12.2018

Dive No. 1 Filitheyo Outside

Dive No. 2 Kingdom of Fish

Dive No. 3 Valley of the rays

Check dive we did at Filitheyo outside with a mild to medium out going current. Plenty of bat fishes were all over the reef, few white tip reef sharks, grey reef sharks, lots of snappers and a big nurse shark was sleeping under a coral block

Kingdom of fish was with a medium outgoing current. We saw two eagle rays, white tip and grey reef sharks and a huge school of fusiliers and different snappers.

Three Manta rays were cruising on the top reef of valley of the rays while current was flowing into the channel. So we jumped In front of the sharks and drifted inside seeing three manta rays.

Dive No. 1 Valley of the rays

Dive No. 2 Mantas & More

Dive No. 3 Mantas & More

We had medium out going current at valley of the rays. Unfortunately, no manta to see, but we found three stingrays, white tip sharks, a leopard shark resting on the sandy bottom and a school of dolphins passing by, followed by a Marlin in the blue. Even with no manta rays this was an awesome dive

At our second dive to Mantas and more, we met more than six manta rays. Some of them were just passing by and others were cleaning on the top reef.

We decided to do another dive at mantas and more. This time was a medium towards strong out going current.ar the corner, there were a lot of grey reef sharks and white tip reef sharks. Huge school of big eyed trevallies, some eagle rays and a mobula ray. This was a fantastic dive.

19.12.2018

Dive No. 1 Mantas & More

Dive No. 2 Mantas & More

Dive No. 3 Happy Corner

First dive at Mantas and more with a mild outgoing current was simply awesome. Through out the dive we had mantas and sharks. Hundreds of fishes and a baby whale shark came straight towards us from the deep.

Every body wanted to go there again. We did one last dive at mantas and more with many mantas and it was still a wow…

Last dive of the day at Happy corner, we had out going current. A school of yellow fin barracudas, turtles, plenty of fishes, scorpion fishes and an octopus were seen during this dive.

20.12.2018

Dive No. 1 White Tip Station

Dive No. 2 Happy Corner

Dive No. 3 Shark Point

Medium to strong out going current at white tip station was not bad. Many barracudas and big eyed trevallies, one eagle ray and a huge napoleon were seen.

Happy corner with incoming current was great. Many grey reef sharks were at the channel edge. A silver tip shark and some white tip reef sharks were seen. Many big dog tooth tunas were on the hunt on fusiliers

Shark point with out going current was cool. Beautiful soft corals at the deeper overhangs, two grey reef sharks were cruising the corner, two white tip reef sharks were resting under a coral block on the top reef.

21.12.2018

Dive No. 1 Vattaru

Dive No. 2 Divers Paradise

Dive No. 3 Shark Point

One Manta ray was at the corner of Vattaru for few seconds. A huge napoleon, turtle, sting ray, white tip reef shark and plenty of anemones were to see at Vattaru

Divers paradise with a nice incoming current was cool. Many eagle rays, grey reef sharks, one silvertip shark and a school of 7 mobula rays were to see at the channel edge.

As our divers loved the previous dive at shark point, we did another dive here again. This was beautiful. So many snappers and fusiliers at the corner, school of barracudas and big eyed trevallies, white tip reef sharks, grey reef sharks and a nurse shark was found.

22.12.2018

Dive No. 1 Western Highlights

Dive No. 2 Seven Stingrays

Nice and easy dive at western highlight. Mild outgoing current at the beginning then changed to incoming during the dive. So we could do whole circle around the reef in one dive. We saw a huge school of barracudas, some white tip reef sharks in the distance, many big dogtooth tunas and a lots of fusiliers all over the reef.

Last dive of the trip at seven stingrays was with a limited visibility. But we had a great dive seeing a torpedo ray, school of 10 baby grey reef sharks, some white tip reef shark, a sting ray and a school of humpback snappers and yellow back fusiliers.
