The Balinese New Year or Nyepi, is a day of silence here on Bali. There is no plan, car or person going anywhere on that day. Most of the people here do not have a problem with it that day is preceded by a giant parade where all the villagers come together to get rid of evil spirits to start fresh in the new Year. These are represented by Ogoh-ogoh. Statues generally taking the form of a local demon and collect all the negative energy. They are carried with a lot of noise through the streets before they are burnt in a festive ceremony.
