Alam Anda - Bali

Blog Alam Anda –  19.03.2018

Also this year our guests could experience again the colourful and deafening parade of our village, which ends the year according to the Balinese calendar and heralds the Balinese New Year.
Large papier-mâché figures are carried around the town and burned by the sea in the evening. They symbolize the evil spirits that you want to drive off the island and so that they don’t find their way back to us, they all stay quiet the next day and don’t use any light or other signalling devices. The day of silence on Bali, called Nyepi, on which even the airport of the island is closed.
