Dolphins Corner

Sheena is back fresh from dry dock. We welcomed all the guest at Sheena for lunch and went for a check dive to dolphins corner. Saw many dolphins jumping on the surface on our way to the dive site. Was a mild incoming current from south. Dive started in the out side reef. Weight checked, equipment working perfect and we met about six white tip reef sharks, four sting rays, couple of big and small napoleons along the reef edge.

Filitheyo outside – Western Highlights – Mantas & More W

First dive of the day at fili outside was with a medium out going current and visibility like 20 meters. We had few white tip reef sharks, some grey reef sharks, just circling around a coral block looking for some breakfast. There were many bat fishes curious towards divers eating our bubbles. At western highlights we met a school of 17 eagle rays, few white tip reef sharks,
Mantas and more with a medium incoming current and clear visibility, we met some white tip reef sharks, a manta mobula, few grey reef sharks hanging in the blue some of them came really close to us, there were big napoleons on the reef as well. A small group of 5 eaglerays passed by the divers at the corner. Was a nice day diving. After the dive, we went to Medhufushi bar for happy hour.

Mantas and more – Sharks tongue – White tip station

We did mantas and more in the morning with a mild incoming current and had a great dive again, with top reef full of bump head snappers, barracudas, many baby sharks, big grey reef sharks, and we saw two big flounders while waiting at corner with eagle rays.
Second dive at sharks tongue was almost with no current, we had two feather tailed stingrays, a blotchy stingray, some white tip reef sharks resting in the sandy bottom, few lobsters and a friendly turtle. For the last dive we drove to white tip station and had strong incoming current so we crossed the the channel. It was just amazing to see more than fifty sharks on the channel edge, we had plenty of small and big silver tip sharks, grey reef sharks, white tip sharks and some eagle rays as well.

Lucky reef – Rakeedhoo kandu – Miyaru kandu – Alimatha house reef

Lucky reef with a mild out going current, visibility not bad, we saw the big school of big eyed travellies, so many yellow fin barracudas, few grey reef sharks swimming above us while we stayed at the corner. There were two big napoleons came very close to the divers and an eagle ray just hovering next to us.
Rakeedhoo kandu with a medium in coming current, we had the family of napoleons, few grey reef sharks and a school of 15 eagle rays while we drifted inside the channel. There was a big nurse shark laying under a big coral block as well.
Miyaru kandu with a mild to medium in coming with very good visibility, we crossed the channel and saw many grey reef sharks and some white tip sharks, there was a big pregnant shark as well on the channel edge. Later we drifted inside the channel and met a stingray resting on the bottom.
Night dive at alimatha house reef is always the high light. It was strong incoming current, so we jumped and hooked to the reef. Few stingrays were looking for food, we had more than 50 big and small nurse sharks just swimming over us through out the dive and more black tip reef sharks while we did our safety stop.

Dhevana kandu – Golden wall – Fottheyo

Dhevana kandu was with a mild incoming current and visibility like more than 20 meters. We crossed the channel easily, there were sharks every where, big and small grey reef sharks swimming with us through out the dive. It was a very relaxing dive with plenty to see. Golden wall with incoming small current was nice to see all the soft corals, a turtle, many lion fishes and lots of small reef fishes.
Fottheyo was with a medium out going current, we had fun swimming through the swim throughs with full of soft corals and along the. Reef edge was many fusiliers, couple of white tip sharks, and many different snappers. At the end of the dive a huge napoleon came really close to the divers.

Fottheyo – Vattaru kandu – Happy corner

Fottheyo early morning was nice to see the glittering planktons in the blue, we had no luck with hammer head but we saw a big vaahoo, barracuda in the blue, back at the reef, there were sting rays, eagle ray and few grey reef sharks. Second dive at vattaru was with a mild out going current. We started the dive inside the channel. Drifted to the corner. No manta. So we spent sometime checking the beautiful over hangs with blue soft corals and came back to the corner to meet the majestic manta rays at the end of the dive. There were three big manta rays

Kingdom of fish – Filitheyo thila

Morning first dive at kingdom of fish with a medium out going current, was with ok visibility, there were plenty of fishes as always. Jack fishes, tunas, few white tip reef sharks were seen. It’s always great to see the untouched live hard coral here at the kingdom of fish
Last dive was with a mild incoming current and visibility was clear. We had few white tip sharks, napoleons, school of rainbow runners and a big stingray resting on the sandy part.
