Did you know … Cometfishes use their fake eye at the back of their body for two purpuses at least?
1. to survive: when treatened they stick their face into a hole in the reef and the back looks like a moray eel.
2. for feeding: they approach their prey sideways and when the prey tries to escape it wants to avoid the mouth which is where the eye is, but half of the time it mistakes the fake eye with the real one (which is more difficult to see) and end up escaping on the side of the mouth! Very clever I guess …
