18 August 2019

Today our tour starts with 5 guests on the boat: 2 from Germany and 3 from Austria. They all will be arriving into Filitheyo where we will pick some of them up from the Filitheyo airport while some are already staying in the resort and take them to their home for the next 7 days.
Once arrived on boat they were provided with a welcome drink and a welcome briefing and later shown their cabins which later followed upon with a light breakfast. After a little rest the bell rang for the first dive briefing which is later followed on with a Dhoni briefing and the check dive where the guests could check all their equipment and make sure they are weighted properly. As we were only 5 divers Ved was leading the group alone.

Dive 1 – Dolphin Corner ( Faafu Atoll) (Check Dive)

Once back from the check dive tea and coffee was prepared and then Ved gave a current briefing where he explains how to dive in the current and the difference between a kandu, a thila and a giri.
Later after dessert a general boat briefing about the full boat was given and then Ved
presented to the guests the itinerary for the next 7 days. At the end we had a crew
introduction where the guests are introduced to the crew which ended with a nice round of applause.
Soon later the guests started to head towards their cabin to get the much needed rest and prepare themselves for the next 7 days of adventure.

On the dive we also had some grey reef sharks, and some eagle rays but noting could have topped the beautiful mantas. Then we dived a famous thila called Kandhooma Thila where we had small outgoing current for the second dive and a strong outgoing current for the third dive.
