We are looking forward to it!

30.09.2018

All divers arrive early enough, so it is worth to do a check dive at the outer reef. The sun is shining but it is still a little windy. We have a comfortable 60 minute dive on the outer reef.

01.10.2018

Dive 1 Barracuda Kandu

Dive 2 White Tip Station

At Barracuda Kandu we have a medium incoming current. The visibility was not the best. We could not expect anything else in this weather. Nevertheless we could see an eagle ray and some white tip sharks. A lot of yellow-striped snapper were on the way as well as butterfly fish. We approached with the company of batfish a large block in which 4 large lobsters hide.

Due to the weather situation we start directly into the Meemu Atoll and today we limit ourselves to two dives.

In the Meemu Atoll we decide to go for White Tip Station. The visibility was better and a comfortable drift dive at the outer reef brings us a big school of bigeye mackerels. In addition there was a big Green Turtle at the bottom of the channel and a Hawkspill Turtle. At the end of the dive we had a white tip reef shark and a group of yellow fin tunas.

02.10.2018

Dive 1 Happy Corner

Dive 2 Dhiggaru Adi

Dive 3 Ali Thila

Early in the morning at sunrise we had a great dive at Happy Corner. The current was still outgoing. Already at the beginning an eagle ray came towards us.

In the overhangs there were lionfish and scorpionfish. At the edge we had a few curious grey sharks. A lot of fusiliers and a big Napoleon were also to be admired at the corner.

The second dive we do at Dhiggaru Adi. The dive was smoothy We dive comfortably along the overhangs and find a lot of small things, among them a Mange snail.

The third dive is an explorer at a thila where we are very lucky with the visibility. We had many fusiliers, a few rays and white tip reef sharks.

03.10.2018

Dive 1 Fathassa Giri

Dive 2 Rakeedhoo Kandu

Dive 3 Golden Wall

Today we had the best visibility at Fathassaa Giri, about 15 to 20 meters. There were many, many fusiliers, some tunas in between. A white tip reef shark and four eagle rays sailed in the current. One of the eagle rays had a thick belly which suggested that he was pregnant.

The second dive was at Rackedhoo Kandu, beautiful dive site with great reef formations. We see a baby eagle ray, some Napoleons, a mantishrimp and in addition a large octopus. At the end of the dive a turtle passes by at the safety stop.

Golden wall was a great drift dive. The walls are studded with soft corals in all colours.

04.10.2018

Dive 1 Kashavaru Kandu

Today we could do just one dive as weather was bad and we wanted to go back to meemu atoll for mantas.

A medium to strong out going current with very limited visibility, we drifted from inside the channel to the outside of the atoll. Met some turtles, lots of tunas, a white tip reef shark and lots of small stuff including octopuses, lionfishes, scorpionfishes as well as some colorful nudibranches.

05.10.2018

Dive 1 Mantas & More

Dive 2 Mantas & More

Dive 3 Boahura Express

First dive today at mantas and more was amazing. At the start we swam with hundreds of pump head snappers, many oriental sweet lips, couple of turtles. Then had three mantas. One of the manta was swimming just over our head. There were baby white tip sharks and one huge grey reef shark. And then came a whale shark who made three circles around us. This was so cool. So far the best dive of the trip.

Second dive again at mantas and more was good too. No whale shark this time but had one Manta, eagle ray, sharks and turtles and a mobula Manta was just circling around for few minutes.

Boahuraa express was with limited visibility again. Some sharks, a huge green turtle, two napoleons and a big school of rainbow runners were following us through out the dive.

06.10.2018

Dive 1 Mantas & More

Dive 2 Simply The Best

Dive 3 Mantas & More

At the last day of the tour, visibility has started to get better, even with whole week out going current, today we had more than 15 meter visibility. Few white tip reef sharks were on the top reef as well as at the deep. Two big grey reef sharks were waiting at a cleaning station. They had their mouth open for the tiny little cleaner wrasses to eat the dead skin and parasites. At the end of this dive we met a large mantaray passing.

Second dive at simply the best was with almost no current, we had fun counting how many long nose hawk fishes we could see. Couple of beautiful nudibranches, lion fishes, pipe fishes, scorpion fishes and a lots of different reef fishes were on the top reef. Inside over hangs were a big and a small marble sting rays sleeping.

For the last dive of the trip we went to mantas and more again. Dive started with an eagle ray and about six white tip reef sharks. Few turtles and napoleons were seen as we drifted along the outside reef of boahuraa. At safety stop we had two baby white tip reef sharks circling around a coral block.
