The holy hike of the east

“Lempuyang temple” is one of the highest & sacred temples in Bali. A 2,5 hrs hike will bring you to the temple on the top of Mt. Belibis, 1’058 meters a.s.l. This journey will wind through misty ancient forests, vanilla vines, native orchids, along a combination of grassy paths lined with lemon grass & steep rocky tracks. Reaching the top you are rewarded with breath taking views overlooking the Karangasem valley to the ocean & across to the mighty, 3’142 meter high Mt. Agung, Bali’s famous volcano. After a traditional ginger & ginseng morning coffee & some ”jajan” cakes the guide will accompany you into the temple where the priest will bless you with holy water. Your decent will be via the 1’700 steps of the temple passing many other sacred temples & places of spiritual importance. You will be picked up at the bottom & drive 15 min. to “Bali Asli” for a well-deserved “Nasi Campur” lunch.
